2012: Percussion PLUS 150 participants - 10 concerts - 15 masterclasses in 4 days. Highlights: Premiere of Pius Cheungs new marimba concerto and Per Nørgård (famous composer) played the marimba on stage in his lecture about his music. Nordic Percussion Festival each year 2017- Student based learning experience. Students organizes program and rehearsals and students from all over the world gathers to play chamber music together

We provide an exceptional education in classical percussion, focusing on fundamental skills while allowing each student to carve their own path in the diverse field of modern. You will engage in a curriculum that embraces various traditions while cultivating your creative abilities and helping you define your artistic identity. The head of the percussion department, Henrik Knarborg, is involved in research projects aimed at enhancing our teaching methods, incorporating insights from martial arts, other art forms and neuroscience, and is sought-after instructor at international masterclasses.

 

- Participate in two joint lessons weekly with other percussion instructors.

- Follow a solo lesson program.

- Attend masterclasses with international teachers.

- Engage in special projects with composers in the RAMA percussion ensemble.

- Collaborate with the academy's orchestra school.

- Work on projects with seven different professional orchestras and ensembles.

- Complete an intensive entrepreneurial course in project development and artistic research.

- Join the Nordic Percussion Festival, featuring collaborations with composers.

Bachelor program:

Establish a strong connection to all instruments while beginning to define your artistic vision. The program combines foundational subjects with electives and offers a flexible schedule for additional solo lessons.

Master program: 

Through elective subjects your studies can be further specialized: contemporary music, electronic music, orchestral percussion, songwriting, conducting or pedagogy 

 

Soloist Diploma:

You will be part of an openminded community of composers and performers. Studies as focused on developing your qualities as a soloist or chamber musician on the highest level. At the audition you can choose a special focus: Marimba/Mallets , Theatrical Percussion, or the more open "General"
